Today I had several errands to run, to the store, the library and the bank, so I decided to take along an American Stogies Robusto Natural that I picked up from Tobacco Cove last week. The stick cost $2.30, I guess you could call this research for a little project I started last month about finding, if they exist, good cigars for under $3.00.

The American Stogies Robusto Natural has a light brown wrapper with a slight oily sheen. The wrapper has a very light tobacco aroma and a few noticeable but small veins. I choose this 4 3/4” stick for the 30 minute ride I hoped these errands would need.

My first stop was the library to drop off a few books I had finished reading before the expected due date. As I left the drive thru book drop off box I punched the 50 size ring gauge with my Colibri lighter. The stick lit easily and burned evenly.

The smoke from the American Stogies Robusto Natural was very heavy and full and had a slightly sweet aroma. The ash proved itself well and needed to be tapped off at each traffic light. The ash was light gray to white in color.

The American Stogies Robusto Natural has a light to medium tobacco flavor with a slight spicy aspect to it. At the mid way point of this stick I did pick up a hint of sweetness that lasted until the end. There were no dramatic flavor changes in this cigar.

The American Stogies Robusto Natural lasted through all the errands and I was able to finish it up on the back patio. This cigar is very inexpensive so do not expect any flavor complexities found in other cigars costing more, but do expect it to provide an enjoyable every day smoke. The American Stogies Robusto Natural turned out to be a good cigar for under $3.00 a stick so my research paid off and I added it to my project.
