Soon to be Ashes
October 28, 2005
Yesterday I spent a few minutes going through my humidor and planning out which stick will be reviewed next. I have settled on a Don Tomas Cameroon Perfecto No. 2. The weather here has been great. I will torch this stick this afternoon and try to post the review this weekend. The list below are the cigars that have been in my humidor for at least two weeks.
- Montecristo White Label Toro (54 x 6)
- Carlos Torano Casa Torano Toro (50 x 6 1/2)
- La Gloria Cubana Medaille d’Or No. 2 (43 x 6 1/4)
- Romeo y Julieta Reserve Belicoso Maduro (54 x 6 1/8)
Punch Champion(30/60 x 4 1/2)
I will be reviewing them in the coming weeks, not necessarily in the order of the list. With that, a thought comes to mind as to how do I pick which sticks to smoke and which to wait on. Not just for the reviews but for smoking in general.
Several criteria come to mind as to how I pick cigars at the store. Price, appearance, past experience, and the tiny voice I hear as they call my name have a bearing on my choices. I also tend to choose brands I haven’t tried or different products within the brands I have tried and liked. Enough for now, time to smoke…

The Casa Torano is a great morning smoke. I just smoked the Casa Torano Fresh Rolled which you can only get at Torano events and contains a slightly different blend than the normal Casa Torano. Great cigar to sit and relax away the morning with.
